OP-Pohjola Group selects Norkom’s award-winning financial crime and compliance solutions to comply with 3rd EU Money Laundering Directive

This deal cements Norkom’s position as clear market leader of financial crime and compliance solutions in the Nordic region, which now counts the largest financial institutions in Finland, Norway and Sweden as clients.

New research programme will enhance the protection of financial institutions against spiralling levels of fraud

Norkom Technologies, the leading provider of financial crime and compliance software solutions to the global financial services industry, has today announced that it will work alongside leading academic institutes on a targeted research programme to develop next generation techniques for discovering patterns in complex sets of data that will enable financial institutions to identify suspicious or criminal behaviour faster and stop it in its tracks. 

The collaborative research programme with Clique, a Science Foundation Ireland strategic research cluster, will feed directly into Norkom’s overall research and development (R&D) programme, contributing to the advancement of its enterprise financial crime solutions.

Norkom has been chosen by CNP Assurances, the leading provider of personal insurance in France which is listed on the SBF (Société des Bourses Françaises) 120 Index, for its financial crime and compliance software suite in the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism and to comply with the 3rd EU Money Laundering Directive as applied to the insurance sector. This deal positions Norkom as the leading provider for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) solutions to the European insurance sector.

18 November 2009 – Dublin, Ireland - Norkom Technologies, the leading provider of financial crime and compliance software solutions for the global financial services industry, was the proud recipient of two awards at the prestigious annual ISA Software Industry Awards ceremony, which was held in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, on Friday, 13 November 2009. The company won the award for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), while its CEO, Paul Kerley, was named Technology Person of the Year.

In winning the Corporate Social Responsibility Excellence Award, the company was recognised for its innovative CSR programme, Education in the Community, which aims to encourage students in disadvantaged areas of Dublin to access third level education. Managed and organised by Norkom employees who act as mentors to the students involved, this programme involves the active participation of students from schools within the Dublin City Centre, the area that houses Norkom’s global headquarters, who compete against each other in a technology-related project for a prize fund towards a college career.
