Norkom targets Asia after 53% revenue rise | Print |

irish-examiner-logoAnti-fraud software provider Norkom Technologies has identified Japan, Korea and China as potential long term target markets as it develops its presence worldwide.

The Dublin headquartered company - which provides the financial services industry with software products aimed at guarding against money laundering and fraud activity - yesterday reported a 53% year-on-year rise in first half revenue to €17.6 million.

irish-independentStrong demand for its financial crime and compliance software from US banks helped Norkom's underlying sales and revenues surge ahead in the six months ended September.

Norkom, which makes software that helps banks prevent money laundering and fraud, said fiscal first-half pre-tax profit rose 26pc as the company added new clients.

Merrion has initiated coverage on Norkom and has set a price target on the stock of €2.30.

The just-published Iris Technology Update from the analysts Gerry Hennigan and Dan Cavanagh looked at eight quoted technology companies based on the island of Ireland under a number of categories including the strength of their balance sheet, currency exposure, characteristics of their business model and demand for their products.
