Financial services security software provider Norkom Technologies has secured €4 million funding from Enterprise Ireland’s (EI) scaling unit. The investment will allow Norkom to create 111 new jobs, 70 in research and development, and all based in Dublin.

Norkom today announces a €4million research and development grant from Enterprise Ireland (the Irish Government's development agency) to support the company's growth strategy as it seeks to become a global market leader.

In line with its business plan, Norkom intends to invest €11.4 million in qualifying research and development from 2008 to 2010.

Enterprise Ireland is to invest €4m in Norkom Technologies, which will create over 100 new jobs in Dublin. 70 of the 111 jobs will be in research and development. Norkom said the investment will fund expansion plans which will enable the company to significantly scale up its growth.

Norwegian banking group DnB Nor is rolling out anti-money laundering and compliance software from Dublin-based Norkom Technologies across its operations in 11 countries.

The bank will use the financial crime and compliance software to support an enterprise-wide strategy to combat money laundering and terrorist financing and ensure compliance with national and international regulations, including the third EU money laundering directive.
