Standard Chartered plans to combat financial crime and improve compliance with technology from Norkom.
The bank is introducing Norkom's anti-money laundering and watch list management solutions in more than 50 countries starting with the UK and US. It should be fully rolled out by early 2007. The technology will monitor transactions in real time and batch mode to identify, analyse, intercept and report suspicious behaviour. It will also monitor the bank's transactions against watch lists to identify and prioritise high risk transactions.

Standard Chartered Bank, one of the UK's largest banks, is installing a financial crime prevention system from Norkom Technologies in order to improve its compliance with anti-money-laundering regulations.
Under the contract with the Dublin-based firm, Standard Chartered will roll out Norkom's anti-money-laundering and watch list management software across in the UK and United States, a Standard Chartered spokesperson tells CardLine Europe.
